Marine Corps Air Station New River (ICAO: KNCA, FAA LID: NCA) is a United States Navy helicopter and base station in Jacksonville, North Carolina. , in the eastern part of the country. In 1972, McCutcheon Field was named for General Keith B. McCutcheon, one of the fathers of the Marine Corps helicopter.

The base was originally 29 plots of land, a simple tobacco farm purchased for $64,502 in 1941. Camp Lejeune officials were scouting for an airfield to support amphibious operations. . Capt. Barnett Robinson, a member of Marine Glider Group 71, concluded from his research that the farmland was well suited to the needs of the Marine Corps.

The area was placed under the command of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and received its first squadron, VMSB-331 from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point on 9 March 1943. On 1 June, VMSB-331 was split into two to form VMSB- 332. However, both teams shortly after moved to Bogue Field. From mid-1943 to August 1944, naval bombers VMB-433, VMB-443 and VMB-612 operating from the PBJ Mitchell were deployed there. On April 26, 1944, the area of land around New River and Peterfield Point, named after the original ranchers who were part of the government purchase, was authorized for the Marine Corps Auxiliary Airfield Camp. Lejeune. It refers to the airport from Camp Lejeune, and marks its official birth as a Marine Corps installation. Over the next few years, Marines paratroopers, paratroopers and airmen trained at the King Air hangar, the Station's first hangar, which was moved from Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina.
When World War II ended, Camp Lejeune MCAAF was closed and reverted to a caretaker role as a remote airfield for MCAS Cherry Point. This was short-lived, however, as in 1951 the installation was restored and became the Marine Corps Air Facility Peterfield Point, Camp Lejeune. Just one year later the name was changed again, this time to Marine Corps Air Facility New River. July 1954 marked the arrival of the first active Marine Aircraft Group, MAG-26, which was transferred from MCAS Cherry Point.

The area underwent another major change in 1968, when it was re-designated as the Marine Corps Air Station (Helicopter) New River, marking its growth from a small training area to a major airport.

In January 2022, HMH-461 became the first operational unit in the Marine Corps to replace the CH-53E Super Stallion with the CH-53K King Stallion.
The Air Station is the first base for the Marine Corps and the new MV-22 Osprey. He can fly like an airplane, land like a helicopter. MV-22 replaced the CH-46E Sea Knights on the East Coast except for HMX-1 and HMM-774. There are currently six active Osprey squadrons, VMM-261, VMM-263, VMM-162, VMM-365, VMM-266, and VMMT-204.

MCAS New River is a city in the state of Carolina, in the United States. The camp is located in the city of Jacksonville in Onslow County. Its base is less than 20 kilometers north of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. To the east of the camp is New River and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, to the north is Richlands, and to the south are Sneads Ferry, North Topsail Beach, Surf City, and other coastal communities.

Upon arrival, Marines must report to the Personnel Control Center in building AS-201 in uniform during the day. Call 1 (910) 449-7268 for more information. Employees arriving after normal working hours must report to their supervisor.
Marines will need their service record books, health and dental records, copies of previous orders, and travel tickets for admission. After Marines enter IPAC, they will report to their permanent command for an official report. and further processing instructions.
Service members from other branches will report to their respective support teams for approval and then report to IPAC for further processing.
