Mcas Miramar Thrift Store - The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band, based at MCAS Miramar in San Diego, covered two Macklemore and Ryan Lewis songs at their recent Marine Corps Ball.
Performance videos of "Thrift Shop" and "Can't Hold Us" are going viral on YouTube, with over 184,000 views so far.

So this is our third year doing knockdown/dragout birthday concerts. First it was "Bohemian Rhapsody," then "Gangnam Style" and "Thunderstruck," and now it's "Thrift Shop" (which we rewrote for "Cash Sales") and "Can't Catch Us." If you've ever been to troops, I'm sure you know what cash sales are, so listen to the lyrics, they're so clever. Staff Sergeant Justin Leinman did an excellent job rewriting the texts and Staff Sgt. Josh Lively did a great job putting the whole thing together. Here's to 238 years of Marines doing things like no other. Semper Fidelis!
